The Check 21 Overview course provides an overview of the new Check 21 legislation that went into effect on October 28, 2004. It covers the goals of the legislation, check truncation, substitute checks, consumer safeguards, expedited re-credit procedures, and what banks must do to implement Check 21.

   Audience:  Bank personnel who work with checking account customers.

• Describe the key elements of the Check 21 Act
• Explain Check 21 to customers
• Describe what to expect as Check 21 is implemented
